Mini-mani video pending!!

I did a mini-manicure tutorial! By "mini" I don't just mean "short", I mean mini-nails... My little baby-birdy got her nails done, too. I'm editing the video as we speak!

A special "Thank You!" to my friend, Zillah, who sent me the tshirt photo. Apparently, I have to make a Walmart run because I absolutely HAVE to have this shirt!!

Rayman Origins - review!!

I just went out and bought Rayman Origins for PS3, and let me tell ya....it is AWESOME!! The game play is seamless and the graphics are phenomenal. It allows gameplay with up to four people and there's no split screen. I really like how when you get hurt in multiplayer mode, you simply become a bubble and your teammates can pop your bubble to bring you back for another go. The character expressions are hilarious and the puzzles per stage were very cleverly designed. I would definitely recommend this game for just about anyone, especially fans of the older versions of Rayman. That little guy has come a long way and he certainly has never disappointed. Comment below if you'd like to see video preview... Watch me fly it before you buy it :)

Angry birds and Seth MacFarlane

The Angry Birds nail art came out so cute!
Angry Birdy-cure

I was watching Star Trek:Enterprise with my boyfriend last night and I almost peed my pants! One of the crewman on the Columbia is the illustrious Seth MacFarlane!! This is information that imdb.com could not confirm for me, but the voice of Brian Griffin (Family Guy) and Stan Smith (American Dad) was absolutely unmistakable. (took a picture of the scene on my TV....yea, I'm that dorky!) I had to share that with you!!

That's a very young Seth MacFarlane on the far right.
My camera should be going out this week for repairs. Hopefully, it won't take very long for them to fix. I missed a whole month of great costume ideas and makeup tutorials I wanted to share with you for Halloween, and for that I sincerely apologize!! I can't wait to get these videos up and running!!!
See you soon, guys!!!

Hey guys,
It's been a little while since I posted anything. My last video, I've been trying to edit, but the file ended up being crap anyways. There were all kinds of freezes and the audio didn't match up at the end. It was completely beyond repair!! Here's a picture that I took of what it looked like when I was done.
This is the scene I used and a list of the brands and colors. I also used some of the lip gloss as a base to create a red-ish hue and give it a strong shape.
This is how it turned out! :)
I also wanted to inspire at least one person out there to watch the movie "Lo". If you are tired of the same old demony, ghostly, creepy Halloween movies this is a riot!! The demon make-up is done incredibly well, although it's a very obviously low-budget film. The humor is dark and sarcastic, but random, like a Family Guy type humorous style. Here's the trailer....

Right now, I'm doing an Angry Birds inspired theme I saw on Cute Polish's YouTube channel. (She had the cutest ideas!)

Well, time to apply the next color! I will post a photo of the finished product!

Lushes, and warm fuzzies,
(and creepy ghoulies!!! I love Halloween!!)

I volunteered to help write a paper for a friend's English class about the economy and the benefits of legalizing marijuana. This is a subject I feel quite strongly about so I kinda took over writing it altogether. I am so proud of this bad-boy I thought I would share it with all of you. Yay for blogs, freedom of speech, and my writing skills (a little pat on the back, took me over four hours to write this thing!)

Well folks, here it is. Hope you enjoy!

The legalization of marijuana has been a controversial topic of conversation for decades.  How would the legality of this proscribed substance influence American society and culture? Could the use of marijuana be monitored in such a way that it could be deemed safe? Could America’s economy actually benefit from its legalization? These are all important issues to be addressed. The fact of the matter is that the history of marijuana is surrounded by false rumors, propaganda, and taboo. In today’s rapidly declining economy, the justification of marijuana could be a long awaited remedy.
To understand the influence of marijuana on our culture and economy, one must first understand the history behind its legality and rumored affects on users.  At the birth of our country’s democracy hemp was grown and used by many well-known business men, and even our nation’s forefathers for many different types of products. For example, hemp paper was used to print school books, hemp fibers were used to make sails and ropes for sailboats. Fabrics were made of hemp until the invention of the cotton gin in 1812. Even our U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence were first drafted on hemp paper. The forefathers of our great nation were once proud owners of hemp plantations, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin.
So, why the big change over? The answer is disturbingly simple: greed!  Paper companies and oil refineries owned by business moguls in the 19th century propagated the use of hemp products in order to eliminate threats to their own wealth. William Randolph Hurst, a well-known newspaper owner and writer was the first to aid a hand in the illegalization of marijuana, using a stereotypical claim that Mexicans were lazy because of their marijuana-smoking habits. Soon after, tree-forged paper and cotton fabrics replaced their hemp-based counterparts.  Rumors and fallacies spread about hemp, or marijuana, including propaganda films like Refer Madness, which aided in the newfound and misguided distain for marijuana use. Industrialists claimed it had drastic effects on users’ behavior, producing violent mood swings and incurable insanity, among other ridiculously fabricated allegations. These falsities aided in the passing of bills outlawing the earth and economy-friendly plant.
The fact of the matter is that there has not been enough scientific testing to prove these claims regarding the effects of smoking the herb. There have, however, been studies proving the vast improvement to current ecological and economical standpoints regarding the use of hemp in modern society. Ten states have already passed laws approving medical use for marijuana. It is said to improve the quality of life for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, as it increases appetite and decreases side-effects of chemo-treatments such as nausea, vomiting, and weight-loss.
Ecosystems can also benefit from the implementation of hemp production and uses in people’s daily lives. Reinstituting hemp paper products would greatly decrease the need for butchering forests for paper, which results in relocating, or endangering species of rain forest creatures.   Hemp may also one day be used as a renewable alternative for fossil fuels, ending our need for oil trade with foreign countries, as well as eliminating harmful exhaust emission from gasoline fueled transportation.
According to some studies the retail sales and taxation could raise an annual estimated $1.5 - $2.5 billion dollars and generate 50,000 new jobs. Taxpayers would also be relieved from funding police force man power and housing jailed individuals arrested for marijuana sales and distribution. Countless amounts of tax dollars and man hours are spent every day to hunt down, search, prosecute and incarcerate harmless “pot smokers” for possession of marijuana.  All this only results in housing, feeding and clothing these harmless “criminals” in over-populated jail cells with the much less harmful degenerates, rapists, murderers, and thieves.
The legalization of hemp would generate jobs for the growth, production, packaging, sales and distribution of the new product and products used to consume the organic herb. Jobs would also be created to transition the use of fossil fueled transportation to the more eco-friendly hemp oil we could use instead.
The financial security of individuals nationwide would see an incredible change for the better, while bringing down the unemployment rate, and the need for tax-based things such as welfare, and food stamps. These tax-based funds could then be more responsibly directed toward society, improving social security benefits to the elderly and disabled. The nation could eventually explore funding more productive educational programs. Potential funding could better afford art and musical departments in schools which have been previously eliminated due to lack of finances.
Well-known cafes in Amsterdam that use marijuana in teas and snacks, as well as for smoking have attracted tourism from all over the world. The United States could only benefit from this type of tourism and spending from across the globe if these types of establishments were allowed to flourish. This would increase the country’s income dramatically, allowing enormous debts with foreign countries to be paid quickly and deficits to dissolve.
In closing, there is a wealth of benefit to be had by realizing the potential gain our country could see from legalizing marijuana. Funding could be redirected in more productive ways. Jobs would be created and reliance in government assistance would decrease. Detention facilities would become less populated. Our future generations could enjoy a cleaner and greener planet free of pollution, high unemployment statistics, and national debt. We have everything to gain by reinstituting hemp into our country’s daily routine. We are running out of things to lose, what better place to start then with the planting of a few seeds.

Hey guy!

So yea, I really don't have a good excuse for not posting the Inara Serra video yet. I still haven't edited it yet. I really hated the video I recorded but I haven't had time to record a new one. The camcorder is still not working :(
I did want to congratulate John Stewart for another great year and another Emmy Award. Of all the shows that were nominated The Daily Show was my favorite....matter of fact the only nominees I actually paid attension to this year were The Daily Show, The Colbert Report (my daily "news" updates) and 30 Rock (cuz Tina Fey is hilarious! One of these days I'll read that book she wrote, I swear!)
Here's the link for a YouTube video of John Stewart's acceptance speech last night:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJnIAFDbct0

In his speech he talks about Stephen Colbert in all his awesomeness, which reminded me of a cute little factoid I learned for a Documentary series I caught on Netflix called Life After People (History Channel)...
There is a satellite in space right now with human DNA strands to assist in repopulating the planet in case of a major catastrophy. People like
Stephen Hawking
Stephen Colbert
Jo Garcia
FOOD FOR THOUGHT!!!

See ya next time! Love, peace and elbow grease,

YARG!! I can't get my camcorder to work!! If anyone knows how to fix it, PLEASE comment below!!!
I finally got the charger I ordered, and charged up my battery, but nothing happens!! The little red light comes on saying I have power, but the screen comes up blank and nothing records....

This is me disapponited:

So the video I was supposed to have posted last week, the one with not the greatest anything quality I mentioned in my last blog....Yea, Let the grueling editing process begin.
Well, at least all of this has been a learning experience for me!! I am working the bugs out of this whole process and eventually I will have regularly posted, clean-looking, super nice (and hopefully, well-liked) videos :)

New Video!!

The new Video Tutorial is filmed! But it came out AWFUL!!!! Ever see a picture of yourself you absolutely can't stand on Facebook?....Yea, I wasn't gonna do that to myself....Not good lighting, the sound sucked, my daughter came and interupted me in the middle and editing it out would've not even been worth it! I tried a different camera this time but it still did not compare to my awesome camcorder :(

The Good news is: I got the charger I ordered in the mail today!! (of coarse, after I shot the tutorial) My BF has the tripod so I will be re-filming the video tomorrow night (again).

I will have my fancy video tools all ready for ya tomorrow! Can't wait to post this video!!

This is the look and the products used to create it:

I was watching Corpse Bride with my daughter yesturday and was inspired to do a make-up tutorial of the ghostly bride....

Problem: I have costume make-up, but it's HORRIBLE for your skin! It's cakey and thick and clogs the SH*@ out of your pores.

Solution: Mix it with a daily moisturizer. Allow to dry and apply a thin layer of baby powder with a fluffy brush.

Not only does this make a great dry base for the rest of your make-up, it doesn't have the horrible cakey residue that irritates sensitive skin (like mine, or my kids)

I will post a video of how I mixed this, as well as a Corpse Bride tutorial ASAP!

Love and Blue Zombies,

Firefly's Inara Serra

Since the only people to visit the blog were myself and my boyfriend for votes, unless more than two votes come in in the next 12 hours (which is pretty far-fetched) it's looking like the winning look this week is....

(Insert DRUM ROLL here!)

I ran the same poll on Facebook and this was the look that won!! I actually got Firefly as a request from an old school friend. (That's "friend from school", not "Old Skool". I'm no gangta...lol)

I still don't have my charger cord thingy for my camera, but I'll make due, I have my ways.

SOooooo....
The new video is filmed and ready to almost be posted. I want to throw some music in the opening to give it that little something extra to amaze your viewing senses, but it should be up by tonight! :)

A word of warning: My video camera is dead and the cable is MIA (just my luck!), so I had to film using my webcam. The sound and video quality are a bit choppy, so I'm apologizing in advance.

However!! I did learn how to play the Doctor Who theme song just to rock your socks, so please clicky the like button to show me you care! ;)

Stay Tuned!!!!

Doctor Who WINS!!!

It was a tie from the blog between Rose from Doctor Who and Bella from Twilight, so I went to my Facebook buds for a tie-breaker vote.

And the winning look is......

Rose Tyler from Doctor Who, played by Billie Piper
Thanks to everyone for voting!!

I'm getting everything ready for the video, I can't WAIT to post it!! I hope everyone enjoys it!!

I'm really excited to see which look is gonna win!! I'm so anxious to start recording my first video tutorial!! I've never done this before so please bare with me as I work out the kinks, and thanks in advance for voting and watching!! You ROCK my fluffy SOCKS!!

So to appease myself for now (and hopefully anyone who's reading):

I just bought the recently re-released Naked palette from Urban Decay and I have to promote how awesome it is!! This is the first look I did with it!! The eyeshadow primer works wonderfully and you only need a tiny little bit. The colors go with EVERY skin tone and EVERY eye color and they all blend together and compliment each other brilliantly.

More random things to share:

Watermelon Nail Polish!! I will post the colors and brands I used soon!!

....and a little something for my Horror movie fan friends watching:

Zombie Make-up!! Sadly, I can not take credit for this one, but I will definitely work on recreating it for future videos!

Peace, love, and space toads!!

And BANG!!!!! A Blog is Born!!

Getting Started!!

Ah!! The beginning of a new era in my life, a new stream of data to co-inside with the infinite possibilities the information super-highway has to offer!! (....and new outlet of creativity for myself!)

So many possibilities, I'm already bursting with ideas!! I've had this idea for a while to start a blog/vlog, but I had the hardest time deciding exactly what to do with it: do I want to review movies? Do I want to talk about all the ridiculous and pointless movie and TV trivia answers my head is full of? Do I want to share my obsession with make-up as my collection fills more and more of my bathroom cupboard? Then it hit me....

And...Ta-DAHHHH!!! Such A Nerdy Birdy!!!

Here are a few ideas for looks I want to copy in the coming weeks:

Billie Piper as Rose Tyler (Doctor Who): 'cause the time-traveler's companion has to look good while visiting other planets.

Joleen Blalocke as T'Pol of Star Trek: Enterprise  (Did you know: She has guess starred on episodes of House and CSI:Miami ?) Yay Volkens!! Super-logical everyday wear, and I may even have some costume ideas!

Kristen Stewart as Bella from Twilight (I may decide on a Vampire Diaries look instead!! Tarte released a palette inspired by the show): Kind of a goth-natural look

Liv Tyler as Arwen in the Lord of the Ring Series: A very natural-dewy look emphasizing a stained lip!

(Note: these are just a few initial ideas I had. Input is appreciated, and requests are welcomed!!)

Also to come looks inspired by: Resident Evil, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Fifth Element, Sweeny Todd, And many more!! As long as they keep making movies I will never run out of inspiration!!

Visit me on Facebook to take the poll or click more than one look from the poll in the sidebar for which you like best to start! :)
